Born in 2002 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Gabriel’s life has always been intertwined with music. His journey began at the tender age of 2 when he first entered a Yamaha class. It was here that he cultivated an early love for melodies and rhythms, laying the groundwork for what would become a lifelong passion.

At the age of 5, Gabriel transitioned to individual lessons, discovering the profound joy of self-expression through music. By 7, he was captivated by pop songs, immersing himself in their catchy hooks and vibrant arrangements. This fascination led him to teach himself to play by ear, a skill that would become a defining characteristic of his musical identity.

At 12, Gabriel found a meaningful outlet for his talents as a keyboardist in his church. This experience not only sharpened his musical skills but also deepened his understanding of collaboration and leadership within a band setting. Today, he proudly serves as the music director, guiding and inspiring others to explore their musical potential.

Gabriel balanced his time between Yamaha and the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), successfully completing Yamaha Fundamentals Grade 5 in 2016 and achieving Trinity Grade 8 in 2019. These milestones fueled his ambition to pursue a degree in Contemporary Music at UCSI University.

During his time at UCSI, Gabriel embraced the role of junior choir president in 2020, facing the challenges and rewards of leadership head-on. It was during this period that he developed a strong interest in songwriting and jingle writing.

Gabriel’s musical taste is rich and varied, influenced by Mandopop, English pop, R&B, Praise & Worship songs, Jazz Fusion, and rap music. Each genre contributes a unique layer to his creative expression, shaping his approach to music and composition, showcasing his creativity as one of the composers for the musical “No Room,” performed at ZEPP KL—an important milestone in his artistic journey.

As he forges ahead, Gabriel is excited about the future and the endless possibilities that await him. His journey is far from over; it is a vibrant tapestry of experiences, and he is eager to weave new stories through his music.
